Slack is a team communication product that can be integrated with almost anything.

To enable reports, while logged in to Usetrace:

  1. Go to Settings > Scheduling & Reporting

  2. From Automatic reports click Add report and select Slack

Configuration:

Fill in the following configuration:

Send reports:

  • Always - always receive reports not depending on the results*

  • When results change - receive reports only when a trace is broken or fixed

  • Fails only - receive reports only when there are failure

*Setting reporting to Always and scheduling test runs every 10 minutes might lead to an annoying amount of reports. Use this option carefully.

Apitoken

Sending test reports to Slack requires an apitoken for the wanted channel.

You can find your apitoken from Slack website: https://api.slack.com/web or https://api.slack.com/docs/oauth-test-tokens

Channel

Also specify the Slack channel where you want to receive the test reports, e.g. #general.
