HipChat is a team communication product by Atlassian. You can use it to receive reports from scheduled test runs.

To enable reports, while logged in to Usetrace:

  1. Go to Settings > Scheduling & Reporting

  2. From Automatic reports click Add report and select HipChat

Configuration:

Fill in the following configuration:

Send reports:

  • Always - always receive reports not depending on the results*

  • When results change - receive reports only when a trace is broken or fixed

  • Fails only - receive reports only when there are failure

*Setting reporting to Always and scheduling test runs every 10 minutes might lead to an annoying amount of reports. Use this option carefully.

Apitoken

Adding reports to HipChat requires an apitoken for the wanted organization.

You can find the apitoken from HipChat's settings while signed in.

Room

Write which (chat) room* you want the report to be sent to.

*Chat room is similar to Channel in Slack and it should already exist in your HipChat when you set up reporting.ย
